General Vannacci suspended as vice president of the European Patriots group

Roberto Vannacci “has been suspended in his duties as vice president of the Patriots”, the sovereignist group of Viktor Orbán which brings together parliamentarians from different countries, including the Spaniards of Vox who have bid farewell to their historic ally Giorgia Meloni. This was stated by the head of the Lepenist delegation Jean-Paul Garraudasked at the end of a press conference organized by the Patriots in Strasbourg dedicated to the Open Arms trial against the leader of the League Matteo Salvini. The case of Vannacci’s possible suspension dates back to before the summer when the possibility emerged that the former general’s duties were frozen.

“Until two days ago I was vice president, now I don’t know, no one told me anything. I’ll have to look on the site. Official documents count, I haven’t received anything official about it”, comments Vannacci immediately.

The news arrived a few hours before the start of the “first national celebration” of Noi con Vannacci in Viterbo, scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. At the beginning of the summer the case broke out with the appointment of the general as vice-president of the Patriots, creating discontent among various Lepenist exponents. The election of Vannacci as vice-president of the Patriots group (the president is Le Pen’s right-hand man, Jordan Bardella) had been leaked by the official sources of the newly formed right-wing component and proudly announced in a note from the League. Matteo Salvini he had congratulated several times: “Full speed ahead!”.

The election to the top of the Patriots, in reality, took place by acclamation, in a single package with five other vice presidents. An outcome that Bardella digested without enthusiasm, and which he had commented by rejecting the “homophobic” statements of the then candidate on the League’s lists: the Rn’s leading man had explained that he was “not aware” of such declarations. “I don’t agree with them, I condemn them,” added Marine Le Pen’s dolphin.
