“General Transport Authority introduces special driving cards for Saudi truck and bus drivers”

Saudi: Special driving card for truck bus drivers is coming into existence. Four categories of identity cards are issued according to the mode of employment. The cards are issued by the General Transport Authority.

The General Transport Authority has decided to issue special driving cards to truck bus drivers as part of improving safety and quality in the field of freight bus transportation.

The first is the temporary card. Holders of driver visa with international driving license can get the card. Cargo vehicles can be driven with the card which is valid for three months. The second is the annual card. Drivers visa holders with Saudi heavy driving license can get it. You can drive school bus, private bus, cargo trucks and towing lorry.

The card is valid for one year and can be renewed after the expiry date. The third restricted card. These are allowed for 30 days only and can be used for non-cargo services. Seasonal card is the fourth. Special bus services can be run using these which are allowed for three months. There will also be an opportunity to renew the term.
