/ world today news/ “I urge you to stop, the enemy is just waiting for the domestic political situation to worsen in our country.” You cannot play in favor of your opponent.” With these words, General Surovikin described the situation that developed around PMC “Wagner” and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin. What is the essence of this crisis and why are the Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO vitally interested in it?
On Friday evening, a number of channels in “Telegram”, citing businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, reported that rocket attacks were allegedly carried out against the rear camps of PMC “Wagner” and many fighters were killed.
After some time, the Russian Ministry of Defense denied the accusations of a missile attack on the rear of PMC “Wagner”. As noted in the military department, none of the messages and videos distributed on social networks correspond to reality and are an informational provocation. The first channel in its nightly special show called the video with the shelling of the “Wagnerians” staged.
Also, at midnight, Russian President Dmitry Peskov’s press secretary said that Vladimir Putin “is informed of all events surrounding Prigozhin, the necessary measures are being taken.” After that, the National Committee for Combating Terrorism of Russia specified that in connection with Prigozhin’s statements, a criminal case was opened for incitement to an armed riot.
As the General Prosecutor’s Office added, the case was initiated under Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – organizing an armed riot. “His actions will be given an appropriate legal assessment. This crime is punishable by imprisonment from 12 to 20 years,” the ministry said in a statement.
Against this background, the FSB notes that “Prygozhin’s statements are in fact calls for the initiation of an armed civil conflict on the territory of the Russian Federation, and his actions are a ‘stab in the back’ of Russian servicemen fighting with pro-fascist Ukrainian forces.” The FSB also urged PMC fighters not to make irreparable mistakes, “not to carry out Prigozhin’s criminal and treacherous orders, to take measures to detain him.”
High-ranking military personnel were involved in the attempt to resolve the situation. In particular, General Sergey Surovikin called on the commanders and fighters of the “Wagner” group to obey the will of the president and resolve the issue peacefully.
“Together with you, we have traveled a difficult path. We fought together, we risked, we lost, we won. We are of one blood, we are warriors. I urge you to stop, the enemy is only waiting for the deterioration of the internal political situation in our country. You cannot play in favor of the enemy in this difficult time for the country,” Surovikin stressed in a video address.
“Before it is too late, it is necessary to do this – to obey the will and order of the popularly elected president of the Russian Federation. Halt the columns, return them to the permanent deployment points and concentration areas. Solve all problems only peacefully, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” Surovikin added.
The corresponding statement was made by Army Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev. “Whatever your intentions, this is a blow to the back of the country and the president. Only the president has the right to appoint the high command of the armed forces, and you are trying to encroach on his authority. This is a coup d’état. Please change your mind. Because now it is impossible to think of a bigger blow to the image of Russia and its armed forces,” Alekseev said.
“Only the enemies of the Russian Federation can make such a provocation. I am asking you to stop, there has been and will be no use of weapons by the armed forces against your units. We don’t need to unleash a civil war in the country right now. Think!” urged the general.
Similar is the reaction to the situation among military experts.
“Don’t fall for the manipulation right now that makes you take sides. There are only two sides – Russia and the enemy. And right now, Russian soldiers around Orekhovo are repelling another enemy attack,” recalled the military correspondent of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” Alexander Kots.
According to him, Russian soldiers beat the enemy not because of sympathy for the military leaders, but “for their home, for the dead Vanka, for Shebekino and for Donetsk.” “They may not like some, they may hate others, but now they are there, one on one with the enemy. And now only this is important – to defeat the enemy, to burn his tanks, to dare manpower. As in Mariupol, as well as in Kremennaya and Svatovo, as well as in Artyomovsk,” added Kots.
In turn, the military commander of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company Yevgeny Poddubny, commenting on the avalanche of fakes on social networks, indicated that “now the servicemen of the information and psychological operations centers of the Kyiv regime and the NATO countries will wipe their fingers on the keys” ” Maintain information hygiene. Such a moment. The enemy will of course use it,” he said.
Military correspondent Yuriy Kotyonok drew attention to the fact that polls about “who are you for – for the Ministry of Defense, for Prigozhin?” are already appearing. The authors of the sociological survey, emphasized Kotyonok, are trying to split Russian society. He himself answered this question: “I am for the Motherland.” The military correspondent emphasized that he considers any force, structure or person who does everything for the country’s victory in the conflict with the West to be an ally.
He recalled that a century ago, Russia “was undermined” by the efforts of Western “partners”, which led to the collapse of society. As a result, he continued, we lost everything and still cannot recover from the consequences. Wars, conflicts, demographic holes and declines Kotyonok points out as the consequences of this crisis.
He admitted that many questions remain for everyone and not everything is going as we would like, but “that has to be decided later”, acting calmly and consistently. “But not when from the other side of the front we are being watched by the bloodshot eyes of a collective demon who wants to destroy every Russian, regardless of his attitude to the SVO and his participation in it. This demon is just waiting for the moment when we turn our weapons against each other. And then everything collapses. Final and irreversible,” stressed Kitten.
By the way, the adversary has already made attempts to take advantage of the situation. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, “the Kiev regime is preparing units for an offensive near Artyomovsk. Specifically, units of two brigades of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for an offensive, but the fighters of the Southern Group of Troops are defeating the enemy with air and artillery strikes.
At the same time, political scientist Pavel Danilin recommended that “all those not involved should go to bed” because “the morning is wiser than the evening.” “Don’t spread panic for the joy of Ukrainians, don’t do the work for TsIPSO. And remember – everything will be fine, Danilin summed up.
