General Solemani was killed by the Americans with a drone strike during a visit to Baghdad, Iraq, two years ago. The assassination was on the orders of the then American president, Donald Trump.

The incident almost brought America and Iran into war. Apart from Soleimani, pro-Tehran Iraqi figures were also killed in the attack.
“After the terrorist act of the US government, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran took various steps with the aim of pursuing this terrorist at all domestic, regional and international levels,” said the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta, in a statement received. SINDOnews.com.
The four legal steps that Iran has taken against the US over Soleimani’s murder include:
1. Iran seeks to register its legal position in various international forums, especially at the UN Security Council as a basis for taking policies and follow-up actions in the future, with the aim of preventing the possibility of other similar hostile acts.
2.Iran has made special efforts to prevent the distortion of reality by the United States and the abuse of the capabilities and powers of international organizations.
3. The establishment of a “Joint Investigation Committee between Iran and Iraq” to follow up on the terror case of Major General Soleimani and his entourage. This joint committee has condemned the US acts of terror and will follow up on this case until the perpetrators of this terror are brought to justice.
4. The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in accordance with its laws has imposed sanctions on the perpetrators and perpetrators of this act of terror.
Iran, through its embassy in Jakarta, has called the killing two years ago a cowardly attack.
“Major General Qassem Soleimani has always played a role in line with the principle policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in helping to realize and maintain peace and stability at regional and international levels,” the Iranian embassy said.
“He is very instrumental in the fight against international terrorism and terrorist groups that are developing in the Middle East region. So he deserves to be mentioned as a peace commander and a hero in the war against terrorism,” the embassy continued.
“Nevertheless, the United States government enforces its double standards in terms of the fight against terrorism through a criminal act that violates all the rules and principles of international law.”
