Former TNI Commander, General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa visiting Tampaksiring Palace in Gianyar, Bali. Andika denied that his visit was a political safari.
“This is not a political safari, this is purely a visit. Because while I served the country and was once the commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), this is the only palace I have never visited,” said Andika, as reported by detikBaliWednesday (13/9/2023).
Andika visited Tampaksiring Palace with his wife, Diah Erwiany Hendrati or Hetty and their son Andrew Perkasa on Tuesday (12/9). Andika appeared to be wearing casual clothes together.
He and his family toured the palace area for more than two hours. They were accompanied by the daughter of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, namely Diah Mutiara Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, who is the sister of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Andika entered a number of historical buildings, took portraits, and entered a museum close to the western area of Tirta Empul. Andika, while touring the Tampaksiring Presidential Palace, did not talk much about political issues, even though he was also deputy chairman of Ganjar Pranowo’s national winning team (TPN) in the 2024 presidential election.
Andika admitted that this activity was carried out suddenly in between holding public lectures at Udayana University. “I happened to be going to Bali with my family, so I tried to communicate with Mrs. Sukmawati. It was a win-win to finally meet and tour the Tampaksiring Palace, which was also opened for visits to the general public,” said Andika.
