Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin attended the military parade in Naypyitaw, after meeting with senior junta leaders the day before.

Citing reports Nikkei AsiaApart from Russia there are seven other countries that have sent military representatives to celebrate Armed Forces Day. The seven countries include China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
“Russia is a true friend,” said General Min Aung Hlaing, as quoted Reuters. There were no signs of other diplomats at the event, which was usually attended by dozens of officials from abroad.
As Myanmar’s junta generals celebrate Armed Forces Day, around 50 anti-coup demonstrators were killed by local security forces today.
Media reports and eye witnesses said dozens of demonstrators had been shot and killed. This is ironic because the junta leader boasted that the military would protect the people and fight for Myanmar democracy.
Protesters opposing the February 1 military coup appeared in the streets of Yangon, Mandalay and other cities. They ignored the military junta’s threat that they would be shot in the head and back if they did not stop acting.
