General – Italy’s government decides to support the sport

Cologne (SID) – The Italian government is giving the sports clubs hard hit by the corona pandemic a helping hand. Financing in the order of eleven million euros is planned as part of the new package announced by the government led by Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Among other things, tax rebates are planned for sponsorship contracts that are concluded with sports clubs. 350 million euros are loosely made to support the employees of sports associations.

Each Serie A football club will receive half a million euros in compensation for the measures taken to protect players and staff due to the corona pandemic. 1.7 million euros are to flow to the Serie A basketball teams for the same reason.
