TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Former Commander in Chief TNI as well as Chair of the Presidium of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE) General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo South Jakarta Kodim Commander Colonel inf Ucu Yustia was prevented when he was about to enter the Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery complex, Wednesday (30/9/2020) afternoon.
The Colonel intercepted the general and briefly stopped the general and his entourage from entering. There was a heated debate at that time.
“This is in the grave of the hero, yes, you have a soldier’s oath, you are responsible to God Almighty. That we retirees will respect the heroes who became victims of the G30S PKI,” said Gatot to the military command.
The Dandim emphasized that he was only carrying out his duties and did not mean to prohibit Gatot and his retired officers from visiting the graves of heroes.

“We are only carrying out our duties to comply with health protocols,” replied Colonel Ucu.
After a tough debate, the group was finally allowed to enter with a maximum of 30 people per group.
For about 20 minutes Gatot came to the graves of the heroes at a moment which they called an act of commemorating the rebellion of the 30 September PKI Movement.
