Barcelona, Nov 21 (EFE).- The Department of Health of the Generalitat has opened a file against the general director of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), Ramon Salazar, for payments received from pharmaceutical companies that he did not declare on the Transparency Portal of the Generalitat. As sources from the Department of Health have informed EFE, an information file has been opened on Salazar’s private activity that was allegedly not declared, to check if there are incompatibilities.
‘El Periódico’ published this Tuesday that this oncologist collected at least 14,036.09 euros that he did not declare from up to seven different laboratories in 2022, the year in which he assumed the position of general director of the ICO.
As he holds a high position in the Catalan administration, Salazar is obliged to declare these types of payments on the Transparency Portal.
Salazar collaborated and received income from pharmaceutical companies before becoming general director of the ICO, something that was permitted, but these collaborations and payments continued, without being declared, when he took over as director of the ICO, according to ‘El Periódico’. EFE
