Niort and the Deux-Sèvres Departmental Committee hosted the 2022 Ordinary General Assembly of the French Cycling Federation. The 350 representatives of the structures and of the various commissions, welcomed by about thirty volunteers, took part in the work on the premises of the Domaine du Noron.
Almost 100 years old (2023), the French Cycling Federation is thinking about the future. Proof of wisdom and a beautiful optimism. The future starts tomorrow. Tomorrow, with an increasingly welcoming federation towards young people, beginners and women. A federation with more and more volunteers who do not hesitate to get involved, to assume responsibility in the structures. A federation that is increasingly adopting new technologies at the service of its licensees and its structures…
Job well done
The work of reflection was preceded by the statutory assembly. The various reports presented, commented on and discussed were approved by a very large majority, as was the draft budget.
The afternoon was dedicated to workshop work on the following topics: “From diversity to equality! for one while the other worked on “Generational renewal, how to ensure it in our structures?” How to motivate new volunteers? »
Participants shared their thoughts, the solutions they have implemented in their clubs. Rich exchanges that will surely be shared…
The day ended in the premises of the Departmental House; the mulled wine offered by the provincial council was much appreciated on this cold day.
Projects for 2023
Before celebrating the Federation’s 100th anniversary, their organizers presented the many entities that will be offered to licensees. The menu is large and tempting. Young people will have their traditional meetings: national criterium for young cyclists, national road safety education competition, regional youth weeks, federal youth week… and, icing on the cake offered every four years: Paris-Brest-Paris youth. Twelve days in the atmosphere and on the Paris-Brest-Paris route of the Parisian club Audax.
The brand’s events: Cyclomontagnardes, Vertes Tout-Terrain, Vel’Europe, Tour cyclotouriste and Fête du vélo were the subject of a
detailed presentation while the organizers of the 84And The Federal International Cycle Tourism Week seduced the public and made us want to go to Pont-à-Mousson from 23 to 30 July.
To close these two days, the Federation did not fail to reward the participants in the various competitions, patents or challenges, as well as its faithful servants.
In closing, the thanks expressed by Martine Cano, president, went to the volunteers of the organizing committee, to the employees of the headquarters, indispensable cogs for the good performance, and to the participants who made the journey, sometimes long.
Come to Troyes (Aube) to celebrate the Centenary!
