Gene therapy methods are said to be able to help cure brain disorders. Neurosurgeon, Dr. Krystof Bankiewicz revealed the study in the journal Nature Communications.
The researchers hope the same gene therapy method can be used to treat other genetic disorders as well as common and more complex neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Their study involved seven young patients aged between four and nine years.
