Recently, several videos were spread on social networks in which the former footballer Néstor Ortigoza appears assaulting his ex-partner and mother of his children, Lucía Cassiau. It is important to note that his ex-wife had already reported him for gender violence in August. The board of directors of San Lorenzo issued a statement to inform that it asked him to resign.
The shared images show the former player in the kitchen of what appears to be his family home, attacking Lucía, who tries to record the situation with her phone. A child can also be seen, who is presumed to be one of his sons. In another video, the complainant can be seen capturing the moment when Ortigoza approaches her violently and takes the phone from her hands.
The board of directors of San Lorenzo published a statement in which it requested the resignation of Néstor Ortigoza following the complaint of gender violence and the recent dissemination of videos on social networks. A few weeks ago, the Buenos Aires Police had carried out a raid on the home of the former footballer and current member of the club, in the context of various cross-court complaints related to episodes of violence towards his ex-partner.
“As a result of the publicly known facts that link him to situations of gender-based violence, the majority ruling bloc of the San Lorenzo Board of Directors decides to demand that the titular member Néstor Ezequiel Ortigoza resign from his position, since his actions do not represent the values that our institution upholds.”indicated the statement released by the official X account (formerly Twitter) of the Cyclone.
The 39-year-old former footballer had been appointed manager by the new management. However, the relationship was definitively broken a month ago, when Ortigoza publicly criticized the management of Marcelo Moretti during the transfer market, in the midst of the scandal over the transfer of Matias RealiA few hours later, he was removed from that position, although he remained linked to the Commission due to his position as a member after having been part of the winning list of the December 2023 elections.
