Gendarmerie Vehicle Stolen and Burned in Angers, Investigation Underway

A gendarmerie vehicle, a Peugeot 3008, was found burned early in the morning on Sunday October 22, Chemin de la Chatte in Angers.

The Angers public prosecutor, Éric Bouillard, indicates that the car was stolen in the night, like nine other vehicles, from a dealership in the Angers metropolitan area. The gendarmerie vehicle was in this garage to be repaired.

Open investigation

According to the prosecutor, the perpetrators of the theft were leaving in the direction of Nantes. When they realized that a law enforcement vehicle was in the lot they had just stolen, they decided to get rid of it by burning it. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the national police.
