Gen Z is hooked on Daze, a new waitlist-only text messaging app

“Daze’s goal was to create a full-featured messenger that could compete with iMessage, WhatsApp, etc. It’s a product that has all these really fun and creative features at the same time,” said founder Willem Simons, a New York-based entrepreneur. told TechCrunch.

The interface takes a free-form approach to messaging. Similar to creating an Instagram Story, the app allows users to experiment with text placement, fonts, and colors instead of uniform message bubbles.

And it seems to have gained popularity among the tech-savvy generation, who fawn over the app’s aesthetics on social media.
