The semester at Godolkin has started, and the grades are on Rotten Tomatoes.
The spin-off of The Boys can count on a resounding reception from the critics. It is always exciting to see whether the effect of the original series is matched, but this appears to have been an excellent success.
On Rotten Tomatoes it says it all: 100%, or a certified fresh tomato. Gen V is praised for maintaining atmosphere, satire and a good dose of blood splatter.
Thought about the story
As a viewer you can count on the flat humor that we already know from The Boys, but “underneath it there is enough social commentary to realize that the story has been thought through,” according to the Wall Street Journal. No one should worry about a lack of action. Mashable: “Shocking fights and relationship drama make for an irresistible mix.”
In other words, the world of The Boys is well developed and “does not fall into mediocrity” according to the New York Post. In any case, the academic year for this spin-off has started well.
