On Tuesday (January 12, 2021) a son found his parents passed out on the ground floor of the two-family house. He immediately sent the 911 call. At the same time, the police in Gemünden am Main activated the CO alarms in the house concerned.
As the Lower Franconia police headquarters reported in a press release, the ambulance service brought the couple out of the house as quickly as possible through a window. The man was available at this point. The wife and mother of the 35-year-old son, however, were no longer conscious.
Woman loses consciousness and dies: to blame for CO poisoning?
Despite the best efforts of the emergency doctor, the woman could no longer be saved. The man was taken to a hospital. The Würzburg Criminal Police Office took over the investigation. There are indications that CO poisoning led to the death of the wife. Further investigations are to be carried out on Wednesday (January 13, 2021).
