During an interview, however, Gemma shared for the first time a very difficult moment in her life.

The illness and the confession of Gemma Galgani
The loss of her mother meant for Gemma a very difficult pain to bear. The woman passed away following a long fight against cancer. Galgani, instead of choosing to go to a doctor, wanted to leave her hometown and flee to Africa, thus abandoning her work in the theater.
After a very hard time that she experienced after her escape, Gemma then decided to return to Italy. Thanks to the help of psychoanalysis she then managed to overcome the bad period that marked her deeply, fortunately without using any drugs. From that moment on Gemma manages to live her life peacefully and, for 8 years, has been part of the Great Family of Men and women.
