SPACE — On November 11, 1966, the Gemini 12 mission was launched into Earth’s orbit. Gemini 12 was the final mission of the Gemini program.
In that mission, there were two astronauts on board, namely Jim Lovell and Buzz Aldrin. At that time, NASA was still planning to send humans to the moon. But first, astronauts must have the right skills, such as installing space vehicles and spacewalking.
Gemini 12 also successfully docked with the Agena booster rocket launched on the same day. The booster has never been tested before. The two astronauts returned to Earth after four days in space.
Aldrin and Lovell then joined the Apollo program to the moon. Aldrin became the second person to walk on the moon during Apollo 11, and Lovell became commander of Apollo 13.

Before Gemini 12, astronauts had difficulty space walking because there weren’t enough grips on their spacecraft. NASA is making several changes to the spacewalk for Gemini 12.
