Many people dislike AMD processors for the way of fixing in the socket. The fact is that, due to the adhesive properties of the thermal paste, when removing the radiator, you can easily pull out the processor along with it, while damaging its legs. Of course, the correct technique for removing the cooling system minimizes the risks, but many beginners forget about this. GELID took care of them, which created a simple and effective solution to the problem, although the analog is already was invented in China.

GELID has released a special bracket that firmly holds AMD chips in place in the AM4 processor socket. It is mounted on four screws, completely eliminating the possibility of the chip being pulled out when removing the radiator. The accessory will cost users only one and a half dollars, but it can help save hundreds of dollars on buying a new processor instead of a damaged one. GELID says the bracket is compatible with its Phantom, Phantom Black and Sirocco series cooling systems.
It is worth noting that the life cycle of the AM4 socket is coming to an end, and it is hoped that the conditional AM5 will use a more reliable processor mount. The problem with pulling out the processor together with the heatsink, which often entails damage to the legs, has been encountered for quite some time. It appeared with the debut of Socket 754, the first motherboards with which entered the market at the end of 2003.
