Siegmar Roder, who is responsible for pharmaceutical wholesaling at Verdi, criticizes: “Extreme discount battles have made companies’ profits melt down to almost zero for years. These management mistakes are now to be covered up against the workers with the wrecking ball. ”The union wants to develop its own proposals together with the works councils. First of all, an expert who has already been commissioned should check each individual plan for its usefulness.
Together with the general works councils, the union is demanding an employment and location guarantee from the wholesalers. “In addition, every person affected must be offered an offer to continue working in the neighboring branch.” The intended closure of eleven of the 42 branches affects 400 of the approximately 4200 employees. In addition, considerable restructuring is planned in the headquarters with further downsizing. Gehe / Alliance announced that they would look for “socially acceptable solutions for affected employees”.
These nine branches will be closed: Bayreuth (AHD), Bochum (AHD), Dresden (AHD), Günzburg (Gehe), Itzehoe (AHD), Kassel (AHD), Leipzig (AHD), Nuremberg (AHD and Gehe), Osnabrück ( AHD), Saarbrücken (AHD) and Würzburg (AHD).
The following locations remain: Allgäu (AHD), Berlin (AHD and Gehe), Bonn (Gehe), Bremen (AHD), Delmenhorst (Gehe), Dresden (Gehe), Duisburg (Gehe), Frankfurt (AHD), Freiburg (AHD) , Halle (Go), Hamburg (Go), Harsum (AHD), Kaiserslautern (Go), Kassel (Go), Cologne (AHD), Landshut (Go), Ludwigshafen (AHD), Magdeburg (Go), Meerane (AHD) , Munich (AHD), Porta Westfalica (Gehe), Regensburg (AHD), Rostock (AHD and Gehe), Singen (AHD), Stuttgart (AHD and Gehe), Unna (Gehe) and Weiterstadt (Gehe).
