the latest information revealed by laptop maker Mechrevo give us a more realistic glimpse of what Nvidia is up to with its GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 graphics cards for laptops. The tests put these models and their brothers from previous generations, RTX 3070 and RTX 3060, to the test.
Test results in the 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark show that the notebook with the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card manages to be only 11% faster than the predecessor RTX 3070. 15% faster. Therefore, with these results it is up to the user to analyze whether or not it is worth investing in equipment with a new generation graphics or opting for an older model.
With regard to the GeForce RTX 4060, in 3DMark Fire Strike this graphics card achieved a 30% higher performance compared to the RTX 3060. In the 3DMark Time Spy platform, the performance was slightly lower, being 25% faster than its predecessor.
The RTX 4070 will feature 4,608 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 RAM at 16 Gbps and a 128-bit interface. The RTX 3070 has 5,120 CUDA cores. The RTX 4060 will come equipped with 3,072 CUDA cores while the previous generation model has 3,840 CUDA cores.
We recall that Nvidia will launch these new models of the RTX 40 line on the 22nd of February (Wednesday), thus completing this range which already includes the top-of-the-range RTX 4090 and RTX 4080.
