Geforce RTX 3090 Ti equipped with the new 12VHPWR connector is captured on image

It has been several quiet weeks since Nvidia confirmed the upcoming flagship RTX 3090 Ti during CES 2022. After reports of manufacturing problems, a new launch date was finally found a few days ago, where the graphics card with its full-scale GA102 circuit and 24 GB GDDR6X memory was claimed arrive on March 29.

Now the rumor about the launch date has been supported by a picture of what is said to be a variant of Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 3090 Ti from the partner manufacturer Galax. The picture has appeared on on Twitter and the China-exclusive model, which bears the name Boomstar RTX 3090 Ti, has a distinctive feature that means that it can basically only be an RTX 3090 Ti – namely the new 12VHPWR connector.

Thus, this is also the first graphics card that has been captured on image with the new connector. It’s pretty much everything that can be seen in the picture, but it is very clear that it is a graphics card that is not on the market today. The 12VHPWR connector should be able to deliver up to 600 watts (W). The new connector is also one of the requirements in the next power supply specification ATX 3.0 and gets a number of different options with lower power supply as well.

It is currently unclear how much power the RTX 3090 Ti may require, but given that a Geforce RTX 3090 can draw up to 480 W, it is likely that the RTX 3090 Ti may need even more. The connector on the Galax card has the extras Senseconnectors, which means that the graphics card can draw up to 600 W in theory.
