Geertje first introduces himself. She says her children love their aunt. “Especially now that she is a mother herself.” Geertje and her famous sister rarely see each other. “It’s nice that we are here together tonight, because we don’t see each other as often as we would like.”
Geertje sings the song ‘I Follow Rivers’ by Lykke Li. The panel members have no idea who they are dealing with. Nicolette Kluijver and Jeroen van Koningsbrugge think for a moment about Kim-Lian van der Meij. Loiza Lamers and Jaap Reesema are also fishing in the musical corner, they think of Noortje Herlaar. Nicolette suddenly comes up with a surprising name: Anny Schilder. “She just became a mother, honey,” Loiza tells her, prompting loud laughter from the audience.
A little later Geertje is allowed to take the stage again. Together with her sister, who behind the scenes stands, she sings ‘Flowers’ by Miley Cyrus. The panel members still have no idea, but in the meantime it is time to pass on their final choice.
Loiza and Jaap go for Noortje Herlaar. Nicolette and Jeroen have an inspiration. “We thought of someone from K3,” says Jeroen. “Klaasje Meijer,” the duo then says in unison. But they mean Josje Huisman and quickly change their choice. And that turns out to be a good thing, because Josje has just come out of the wings.
“I was almost crying backstage when I just heard you sing,” Josje says to her sister Geertje. “I liked it so much.” Josje comes from a large family, but none of her relatives wanted to do it. “So I said, ‘You’re all shit, aren’t you?’ And Geertje didn’t let herself be told that twice. So she said: ‘Oh, no. I’m going to participate.'” Despite the fact that she found it ‘super exciting’, Geertje thought it was a very nice experience.
