According to PVV leader Geert Wilders, head of GroenLinks-PvdA figure Frans Timmermans is encouraging violence. Timmermans rejects that proposal.
“Folks, our work is clear. We will do nothing to prevent Wilders from coming to power in this country,” said Frans Timmermans on Saturday at the GroenLinks-PVDA conference. Wilders, who won the elections in November, is still trying to form a government creation
Timmermans’ statement went down the wrong path with PVV leader Geert Wilders. On X, the former Twitter, Wilders interprets this as a call for violence. “Leave nothing behind? Nothing? So there is no violence? ” he writes. “I’m going to file a report.”
He also asks his followers to do the same. “In the coming days, everyone will report Frans Timmermans to the police in your own town to stop the hatred from the left,” Wilders writes. “Help me stop this dangerous left-wing incitement, they have learned nothing from the murder of Pim Fortuyn. ” That Dutch politician was assassinated by an environmental activist in 2002 nine days before the elections.
Appointment?
It was probably a descendant of the tongue by Timmermans. The text he gave to journalists beforehand said “don’t fail” instead of “don’t fail,” Dutch media wrote.
Timmermans clarifies in a statement that he does not want violence. “My methods are always parliamentary and nothing else. I refuse any other proposal.” He responds laconically to the Wilders report. “Wilders always does this when criticized. Then he thrashes around wildly. “
