The Chinese car concern Geely has revealed the version of the electric Panda Mini EV Go Kart Edition, emphasizing that such a model is for younger customers.
The designers of the brand indicate that they got their ideas from the micro sports motor cars, go-karts (karts), from which the name of the version also appears. This release is based on the original Panda Mini with a square body shape and four-seat layout, highlighted in this case by black base paint, sporty purple stripes, two-tone wheel rims, tinted windows and a roof spoiler. The buyer will also be able to choose variants created according to white and gray body color.
In the cabin, there is an 8-inch central screen, a 9.2-inch LCD instrument panel and a D-shaped steering wheel. The central control screen supports wireless connectivity, voice control, navigation and multimedia content, but a smartphone application can be used to remotely open and lock the vehicle’s doors or control the air conditioning.
The small 3.15 m long car is equipped with a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that develops 30 kW and 110 Nm and supports two driving modes: normal and sport. The manufacturer does not publish data on the battery, but it is known that it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 percent with a fast DC charger. Slow AC charging is also supported.
According to Geely, Geely Panda has found 130,000 customers so far, several special versions have also been launched, including Little Yellow Duck Limited Edition, Panda Knight and Dragon Edition. Geely has not disclosed the prices of the Go Kart Edition, but it is known that the current price of a standard Panda is between 29,900 and 56,900 yuan (€3,800 – €7,700).
