There are no ordinary cars left in the Russian range of Geely: sedan sales Emgrand 7 Belarusian assemblies quietly stopped in the summer. However, those were cars of the 2016 model, which in China itself have long been out of date. Geely updates the old Emgrand at an enviable frequency. Previous restyling passed spring 2019, and now a new package of improvements has arrived.
Emgrand has got new bumpers again. The front one this time is more “clean”, with a reduced set of elements and vertical “fangs” along the edges. And on the back, on the contrary, additional linings and reflectors appeared. Instead of the concentric pattern of the radiator grill, there is now a “waterfall” with vertical slats, the wheels and the pattern of the rear LED lights have been changed.
In the salon – no radical changes. Modified media system – with the same eight-inch screen, but without separate “hot” keys. And in rich trim levels there is now a two-tone interior trim. The power units are the same: an aspirated 1.5 (109 hp) is aggregated with a five-speed “mechanics” or a variator, and the older engine 1.8 (133 hp) – only with a manual box.
At the same time, the Geely Emgrand GL sedan was also modernized, that is, the second generation model, which never reached us. I wonder what his latest upgrade took place just yesterday – in March this year. So this time the volume of changes is quite modest. For example, only the radiator grille has been changed from the outside, which has lost its separate lower section. All lighting equipment is now diode.
Sedan Emgrand GL can also have a two-tone interior. Finally, the complex of electronic assistants has been updated. The choice remained a turbo four 1.4 (141 hp) with a “mechanics” or a variator, as well as a three-cylinder 1.5 turbo engine, developed in conjunction with Volvo, which produces 177 hp. and is aggregated with a seven-stage preselective “robot”.
Refreshed sedans are about to hit Chinese dealerships. The first generation Geely Emgrand now starts at $ 10,700, and the more modern Emgrand GL starts at $ 11,900.
