GEEKNPLAY – Microsoft – The porting of Xbox games to PlayStation is reportedly on “pause”.

If we could have hoped, with Phil Spencer, to see Microsoft understand the players, this is not the case. Divisions and fractures multiply over time…

Microsoft is a rich company with many licenses at its disposal, and even more since the latest acquisitions, notably Activision Blizzard King or even Bethesda, to name just a few. Unfortunately, buying a studio does not necessarily mean seeing the expected licenses in development. The most striking example is the case of Banjo-Kazooiewhich belongs to Rareware (and therefore to Microsoft), and which has never had a sequel even though this company has been in the firm’s fold for a long time.

We could also cite the unavailability of a large number of Activision Blizzard King games on the Game Passa year after the acquisition of the studios, while Microsoft affirms that the games arrive “day one” in the service and that they are “for the players”. Certainly, a Call of Duty :Black Ops 6 is coming soon, but where are the other opuses of the license? Where are the company’s various games? Not on Game Pass.

But the most obvious divide with gamers is the arrival of certain games on other consoles, like Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5, or even Grounded et Hi-Fi Rush on Nintendo Switch and the console Sony. A questionable choice, especially when we see that companies like Sony and Nintendo do not offer “their games” on the Xbox console…And the latest announcement has reopened a recent divide with the announcement of Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle on PlayStation 5, at the same time as the game’s release date on Xbox Series. Result: Xbox fans have, once again, raised their shields by indicating to Microsoft their disagreement, believing that this announcement should not have taken place at the same time as that on PlayStation 5!

This crystallization on the part of Xbox players and fans seems to be partly heard. If we are to believe the latest rumors spreading on the internet, it seems that the Xbox ports to PlayStation are “on pause” or “slowed down”. For now, this means that developments are on standby, but for how long? These same rumors specify that, for the moment, the ports are not canceled…but just on pause!

In all of this, there seems to be a red line that should not be crossed: Gears of War, like Halo, should never happen to the competition! But can we really trust these promises? That is the question.
