The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Representative Gebran Bassil, announced after the meeting of the Political Council that “the dialogue must be linked to a specific agenda and a specific time so that it is not a waste of time, and we, as a movement, communicate with the majority of the parties so that we do not say all of them.”
And he added, “There was a meeting recently with the intersection team so that we do not remain in the position of proposing a candidate in exchange for another without agreeing on a vision, and what is proposed with the party is not a retreat, a concession, a deal, or a waiver, but rather a political action, and what we talked about for all the Lebanese and not for the current is the administrative decentralization law.” And the financial and trust fund law that we request to be approved in advance to the Covenant Program.
Bassil said that he had obtained “a preliminary agreement with Hezbollah on the path of a consensual name and facilitating the name in exchange for national demands, and we are still at the beginning of the dialogue with the party, and we have presented ideas to which we await its response.”
He continued, “There is no possibility to elect a president of the republic without understanding, and we count on the Lebanese-Lebanese dialogue, and from the very beginning we said that the program is the basis of understanding.”
He pointed out that “the trust fund determines the state’s funds and its capabilities to attract investment, and it is 100 percent owned by the Lebanese state.”
