Geagea: I would like opposition axis deputies and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to learn something from what happened in the election for president of the US House of Representatives

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, said in a statement: “I would like opposition axis deputies and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to learn something from what happened this week in the election for the presidency of the US House Representatives, since when the competition intensifies and none of the candidates manages to win the required majority, the rounds follow”. the contestants agreed to pick one, and he was elected Speaker of the United States House of Representatives after 15 rounds of voting.

Geagea added in his statement, “If this is what happened in electing the United States House of Representatives as its president, then how much more should it be in electing a president for the republic in Lebanon? The eleventh for elect a President of the Republic informs all parliamentary blocs in advance that he will not close the session, and that these blocs are invited to remain in parliament for dialogue and discussion between successive electoral cycles, and that he will keep the session open not only between sittings and another, but also from one day to the next, and so on until the election of the President of the Republic.

And he continued: “The invitations to electoral sessions are so serious, and this is how we get to elect a president of the republic in a few hours or days, and not by calling for dialogue to get to the election of a president of the republic, because dialogue official takes place in the House of Representatives between one sitting and another, and not at an unconstitutional table of dialogue that excludes. those who obstruct the first presidential elections.
