Geagea calls for removing the “ghost of death” from Lebanon

Representative Strida Geagea affirmed that “the Lebanese people cannot tolerate any war on Lebanon, regardless of its size, so all of us as Lebanese must work to remove the specter of death and destruction from our country.”

She pointed out, “It is completely incomprehensible in this difficult and delicate circumstance, where Lebanese national security is in danger, the stubbornness of some people and their refusal to give up their political maliciousness and their insistence on emptying the leadership of the military establishment by refusing to extend the term of General Joseph Aoun for no reason other than a goal in Jacob’s soul.”

Geagea stressed, “Our position in support of the extension of General Joseph Aoun does not come from political standpoints, as some claim, considering that everyone knows what the political backgrounds of General Joseph Aoun are, in addition to the fact that the other party was the one who sought to appoint him, but he, to the truth and truth, proved it during the period.” Through his leadership of the army, he is a person who bears great responsibility and does not confuse politics with the performance of national duty. He exercises his authority and powers in an appropriate manner, and nothing is higher for him than the supreme national interest and preserving national security and stability in the country. She added, “In times of war, the military leadership is not changed to preserve the supreme national interest.”
