(AOF) – GE Vernova announces a $50 million investment in the wind sector. This investment involves its Schenectady site in New York State and the hiring of approximately 200 new full-time employees. The group’s objective is to set up a new assembly line for its onshore wind turbine activity. The site will assemble three key components of the 6.1 MW GE Vernova turbine. The assembly line will be housed in the building where GE Vernova continues to manufacture steam turbines and generators today.
It is expected to be completed by summer 2023, with the first set of components being produced in early fall.
