The police have detained a man suspected of attempting to rob a bank in Gdańsk. The case is being investigated by the prosecutor’s office. As Radio Gdańsk has established, the perpetrator was supposed to have been frightened by the employees and fled.
The police received a report of an attempted robbery at a bank in Gdańsk on Tuesday before 12:00. Staff Sergeant Mariusz Chrzanowski from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Gdańsk reported that at 12:40 officers from the police station in Orunia detained a man in this case.
– The police are working under the supervision of the prosecutor and are establishing the circumstances of the incident – added the press officer.
According to local media, the man wanted to rob two banks.
Radio Gdańsk was the first to report on the case – according to journalists, the man tried to rob two banks: at Targ Drzewny in the city centre and on Cieszyńskiego Street in Chełm. However, he was allegedly scared off by the employees.
