GD Sound in Emmen: A Story of Resilience and Community Support

A week ago, their bus with more than 30,000 euros worth of sound equipment was stolen and found burnt out. Now Karin Siebring and Harold Imming from GD Sound in Emmen have a bus back. Got. “I received a call from a well-known entrepreneur. He had something for me as a consolation. I thought it was a bottle of liquor, but it turned out to be a new van,” beams Karin.

“I got in and drove out while honking”, Karin laughs. “At that moment I couldn’t speak for myself.”

Siebring and Imming have ended up in a rollercoaster after last weekend. They receive encouraging messages and help from all over the country. A crowdfunding campaign has already raised more than 18,000 euros. “This is mega heartwarming,” says the Emmense. “We don’t care about money, it is necessary to provide for our fixed expenses. But we always enjoy our work so much. And then it is very nice to see that this is also appreciated by others. Harold wanted to be there after the actually stop theft. But after all those reactions, we have to continue. We will make sure that we get things running again.”

Although they don’t care about money, they could use it. “Our old building and inventory are almost impossible to insure. That is impossible. And for our old van we only get the current value. We wanted to give that money from the insurance to our friends, for the van they gave us as a present. But they didn’t want a penny, so we’re going to use that for the equipment and better security of the building.”

Extreme gratitude and joy, Karin can’t emphasize it enough. To thank everyone who helped them, the couple organizes a small festival on September 1.
