Gazprom will not renegotiate contracts with Ukraine

Russian gas monopoly “Gazprom“said that there will be no revision of the transit contract with Ukraine.

“Of course, I think not,” said Viktor Zubkov, head of the Gazprom board of directors, answering the question whether there will be a revision of the existing agreements. This is reported by “RIA Novosti“.

According to him, legally, all agreements between Russia and Ukraine are valid. Zubkov added that the main thing for the company now is to complete the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, which is 90-92% ready.

After that, Russia intends to supply through Ukraine the volumes of gas provided for by the contract.

As a reminder, December 30, 2019 Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine signed a settlement agreement in investment arbitration in the case of the Russian Federation’s obligations to pay a $ 7.4 billion fine to the Antimonopoly Committee.
