Over the past day, the total amount of injection and withdrawal operations from gas storage facilities in northwestern Europe has even gone a little into negative territory.
Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has stopped pumping gas into underground storage facilities in Europe. The process of reducing supplies began on July 31 and ended on August 2. It is reported by Interfax on Tuesday, August 3rd.
“Over the gas day on August 2, the sum of injection and withdrawal operations from storage facilities in northwestern Europe, which the concern uses, even went a little into negative territory,” the statement says.
At the same time, it is noted that the injection of gas into the storage facilities Bergermeer in the Netherlands and Rehden in Germany has already been stopped. At the same time, extraction from underground gas storage facilities in Haidach began in Austria and injection continues at the Katharina and Jemgum underground gas storage facilities in Germany.
In addition, Gazprom has cut gas supplies via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, which runs through Belarus and Poland to Germany. So, since July 30, 84 million cubic meters have been pumped through it, and today the flow has dropped below 50 million cubic meters.
Earlier it was reported that GAzprom artificially restricts gas supplies to Europeprovoking its rise in price. Due to an acute shortage, European gas prices have exceeded $ 500 (about 420 euros), reaching their highest in 13 years.
And today it became known that Gazprom did not book additional capacity of Ukraine for gas transit in the fourth quarter of 2021.
