Gazprom had to take this step due to the decrease in demand in Russia (by 9.5 billion cubic meters) and the drop in sales in Europe – by 41.4% or 63 billion cubic meters. In total, 89.3 billion cubic meters were delivered to non-CIS countries.
If, due to sanctions and counter-sanctions, gas supplies from Russian pipelines are in decline, while supplies to China continue to grow.
“Gas exports to China are growing through the Power of Siberia pipeline as part of a long-term bilateral contract between Gazprom and CNPC. Regular deliveries go beyond the daily contractual quantities, “explains the company.
This year, the drop in supplies is accompanied by record gas prices in Europe, which allow Gazprom to level the situation and receive record revenues.
