The Gaza General Commission for Youth and Culture offered $1.1 million in marriage loans for young couples in 2022, the agency’s director Ahmed Muheisen reported yesterday.
The total sum was distributed among 550 couples, each of whom received a $2,000 interest-free loan.
Muheisen explained that the commission offered another 83 interest-free loans worth $275,000 to help young men and women start their own businesses.
It also signed 25 memorandums of understanding with the Ministry of Local Governance to form youth councils aimed at strengthening youth participation in the political and governance process.
The Commission launched an online platform -Mabader- offering 3,000 volunteer opportunities.
