Three journalists were killed today Friday by Israeli airstrikes, the Hamas government that holds power in the Gaza Strip announced.
One of the three journalists killed in the Gaza Strip is Mudassir al-Sawaf, a Palestinian cameraman working for Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency, which announced his death earlier today.
In addition to Mundasir al-Sawaf, his brother Marwan al-Sawaf, a sound engineer, and Abdullah Darwis, a cameraman, were also killed, according to the Hamas government’s press office.
According to the statement, the deaths bring to 73 the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, which erupted after the Palestinian Islamist movement’s October 7 attack on southern Israel.
The week-long truce collapsed this morning.
The NGO Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) counted this morning at 57 the number of media professionals who have been killed since October 7.
