Gaza Strip Ceasefire Violated: Israeli Army Resumes Fighting with Hamas

The Israeli army, accusing the Palestinian terrorist group “Hamas” of violating the ceasefire regime, announced this morning that it has resumed fighting in the Gaza Strip after the end of the cease-fire.

“In the last few hours, ground, air and naval forces attacked terrorist targets in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, including Hanyounis and Rafah,” the army said.

Israeli government spokesman Eilon Levy said Hamas had not handed over a new list of hostages to be released before the truce deadline in the morning. In addition, the radical Islamic Palestinian organization fired a rocket at Israeli territory at 7:00 a.m. the morning before the end of the ceasefire. However, Hamas also said it had proposed to Israel that it exchange “elderly people” and hand over the bodies of Israeli hostages. Israel did not respond to this.

According to Levy, 137 hostages are still being held in the Gaza Strip. Among them are 115 men, 20 women and two children. The Israeli government also includes a woman and her two young sons, who Hamas says were killed a few days ago. However, according to Israeli information, their deaths have not been confirmed.

The cease-fire in the Gaza Strip came into force on Friday last week. A total of around one hundred Hamas hostages were released during the ceasefire. On the other hand, 240 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons.
