The war in the Gaza Strip, now entering its seventh month, is the deadliest ever waged in this small besieged Palestinian enclave.
At least 33,175 people have been killed in military operations carried out by Israel in retaliation for Hamas’ unprecedented attack on its territory on October 7, according to the Palestinian Islamist group’s health ministry.
Commandos from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, another Palestinian group involved in the attack, killed 1,170 people, Israelis and foreigners, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures.

Israel says it has hit 1,400 “targets” in Lebanon with airstrikes and 3,300 with artillery, rocket or tank fire.
