The issuance of the document, which includes the names and card numbers of the Palestinian victims who fell during the ongoing 19-day Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, comes after US President Joe Biden and Israel questioned the announced death tolls in Gaza.
Biden’s statements
On Wednesday, Biden said that he “does not trust the validity of the death toll announced by the Palestinians” in the Gaza Strip.
Biden stated: “I have no idea that the Palestinians are telling the truth about the death toll,” referring to the Ministry of Health that operates in the Gaza Strip.
He added: “But I am sure that innocent people were killed. This is the price of war.”
The US President did not explain why he was skeptical about the numbers announced by the Palestinians.
An Israeli army spokesman also said on Thursday morning: “I doubt the death toll figures issued by the Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza.”
Death tolls in Gaza
The death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli bombing has exceeded 7,000 since October 7, according to what the Hamas Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.
The ministry said in a brief statement: “The toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip reached 7,028 martyrs, including 2,913 children, 1,709 women, and 397 elderly people.”
She added that “18,484 citizens were injured with various injuries since October 7.”

On October 7, Hamas launched the most violent attack in the history of Israel, resulting in the killing of more than 1,400 people, most of whom were civilians who died on the first day of the attack.
