“Gaza Militant Alliance Claims Technical Error in Latest Rocket Launch into Israel Amid Ceasefire”

Gaza City

Militant group Palestine existing in the region Gaza Strip fired a rocket into the area Israel the south when a ceasefire was in force. The Gaza militant alliance claims there was a “technical error” in the latest rocket launch into Israeli territory.

As reported ReutersMonday (15/5/2023), ceasefire mediated by Egypt was reached between Israel and an alliance of Palestinian militants in Gaza on Saturday (13/5) local time. The ceasefire ended the fierce cross-border fighting that had been going on since Tuesday (9/5) last week.

However, on Sunday (14/5), or the day after the ceasefire was agreed, a rocket was detected being fired from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israel.

Shortly after that, a series of explosions sounded in the northern Gaza region. A number of Palestinian residents in Gaza reported that a militant outpost was hit by an Israeli strike.

There has been no official statement from the Israeli military regarding the latest attack on the Gaza Strip.

Just before sunset on Sunday (14/5) local time, the sound of sirens echoed in Israeli cities located near the Gaza border. Local residents rushed to find shelter.

The Israeli military said one rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip and fell in an open area. The rocket fire from Gaza towards Israel was reported about 20 hours after the ceasefire came into force.
