Gaza: Israel pledges humanitarian aid –

Israel’s government said today that it will ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, even though UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) has been banned by law from operating in the country.

“Israel remains committed to international law and to ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, through international organizations that are free from terrorist activities, such as the UN World Food Program, UNICEF, the World Health Organization and many others,” underlines the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

Major international reactions after the UNRWA ban

The US rejects “any Israeli efforts to starve Palestinians in Jabalia or anywhere else” in Gaza, US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said on Tuesday (October 29th).

“Israel’s words must be matched with actions on the field. Right now, that’s not happening. This must change immediately,” emphasized the American ambassador to the UN Security Council, while many other countries have opposed the Israeli decision.

For example, Norway has announced that it will promote a UN General Assembly resolution asking the International Court of Justice for an opinion on Israel’s obligations to facilitate aid to the Palestinians provided by international organizations, including UN agencies. and organizations of states.
