Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
A number of hospitals in the Gaza Strip were almost paralyzed because they were overwhelmed with treating victims of the attacks Israel.
Aid agency Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) has warned that a number of hospitals are experiencing shortages of medicines, medical supplies and even electricity supplies.
“Some hospitals only have enough fuel for four days,” said MSF Executive Director, Avril Benoit, in a statement as quoted by CNNWednesday (11/10).
Benoit said an MSF clinic in Gaza City was “lightly damaged” by the explosion on Monday (9/10). Even so, the clinic can still operate.
He also added that a nurse and an ambulance driver died in the same attack. Several others were reportedly injured.
Israel completely pounded the Gaza Strip after the Palestinian militia, Hamas, invaded cities in Israel in an unexpected attack from various sides on Saturday (7/10).
Hamas claims the attack with the name Operation Al Aqsa Storm was to end the last occupation of the earth.
Israeli troops did not remain silent and responded to Hamas’ attacks by launching Operation Iron Sword. This Israeli operation targets Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
This mutual attack was said to be the deadliest since the Egyptian and Syrian attacks in the Yom Kippur war in 1973.
At least 1,200 people died as a result of Israeli attacks, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health recorded 950 people killed on the Palestinian side and 5,000 others injured.
