Gaza hospital, ‘Israel denies fuel, children at risk’

(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 11 – The Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, run by Hamas, has announced that, from 7 October 2023 to today, the toll of Palestinians killed in the conflict with Israel has risen to 42,126. Another 98,117 were injured. The previous toll, yesterday, was 42,065. Meanwhile, the situation at the Kamal Adwan hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip is worsening, reaching a “catastrophic” level, with the lives of many children in intensive care at risk in the next few hours. The director of the facility, the largest in the north of the Strip, says this to the Guardian, stating the impossibility of evacuating the hospital in 24 hours as requested by Israel. The facility – observes for its part the press office of the Hamas government, reported by Anadolu – is facing “severe overcrowding, exacerbating the urgent need for medical resources”. “The next few hours will be crucial for the lives of many children inside the ward, as fuel supplies have run out and Israeli occupation forces have blocked access to fuel to hospitals in the north,” Gaza authorities added. . The note calls for “immediate and urgent” international intervention to save as many lives as possible, while condemning the actions of the Israeli forces. (HANDLE).
