A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo today for crucial negotiations on a cease-fire in Gauzein order to overcome the last hurdles to reaching an agreement that would provide for the observance of a six-week ceasefire.

Washington announced that a cease-fire agreement “is already on the table”, has been approved by Israel and is expected to be signed by members of Hamas.
However, the parties involved have released little information on the progress made in the negotiations.
After the arrival of the Hamas delegation, a Palestinian official told Reuters that the agreement “has not yet been reached”.
From the Israeli side, the participation of an Israeli delegation in the negotiations has not been officially confirmed.
A source briefed on the progress of the negotiations said Israel is likely to stay away from Cairo unless Hamas first presents a full list of hostages still alive.
According to a Palestinian source, Hamas has so far rejected the satisfaction of the above request of the Israelis, which it characterizes as premature.
