Gay actor will play the role of fairy godmother in a new version of “Cinderella” – La Teja

The new version of “Cinderella”, which will hit theaters in September, will not have an old and plump fairy godmother as in the animated tale, since now the tender and magical fairy will be played by gay actor Billy Porter.

The new live action film (with real actors), inspired by the classic fairy tale, will be more musical, according to the preview they released this week.

The film stars the singer Camila Cabello, in the role of Ella (Cinderella), but she is not the only star that attracts attention.

All eyes also fall on Porter, who calls himself in the trailer, the “fabulous fairy godmother.”

This is a historic step in film for the LGBT community, which is not usually so openly represented in these types of massive Hollywood movies.

Porter is openly gay and is often publicly dressed in clothing of all genders, including ball gowns usually described by society as feminine.

Precisely a very luxurious golden dress is the outfit with which we will see Porter in this love story.

His other notable roles in Hollywood include the acclaimed LGBT culture drama series “Pose,” whose final season recently premiered to rave reviews; and the well-known horror anthology “American Horror Story.”

In this new film, actor Nicholas Galitzine will be the prince and Pierce Brosnan the king, while Idina Menzel will be Ella’s stepmother, Vivian.

The cast also features other actors and singers such as Minnie Driver, James Corden, John Mulaney, and Romesh Ranganathan (as the mice).

The film made by Sony will premiere on streaming Amazon Prime Video, exclusively, next Friday, September 3, worldwide.
