It was after Friday’s match against Sirius in the floorball allsvenskan that Viktor Matsenius saw the referee’s decision.

On Saturday, Gävle GIK chose to fire Viktor Matsenius – who took over as coach for this season.
“It is clear that trust has been damaged so much towards the association and its values, towards our very important partners, the media, the public and everyone else who follows Gävle GIK sportingly that no other decision could be made”, wrote the club on its website.
Raging against Gävle: “Incredibly disrespectful”
Viktor Matsenius went on Saturday – even before the club’s decision – to the media that he had been “happy” and to “things are taken out of context”.
Something he once again points out in an interview with UNT.
Viktor Matsenius is also very upset about how Gävle has acted.
– I was playing padel and when I was done I had received an email saying that I was fired and that, now I want to be extremely clear, without anyone talking to me. And now you’re going to hear the worst: my children got to read about this on Gävle’s website without me getting the chance to tell them. Incredibly disrespectful, he tells the newspaper.
Matsenius thinks that Gävle should have listened to his version first, which he believes they did not.
– I waited and waited during Saturday but no one contacted me. I’ve been around so damn long but never before have I been around something so unprofessionally handled in 25 years. Considering the safety net you have in Gävle, I would not recommend anyone to represent Gävle. It is miserably handled.
“Viktor and I had several conversations”
According to Gävle’s club manager Peter Nordqvist, the club has certainly contacted Viktor Matsenius.
– I have no comment on his dismissal, it is a board decision. What I can say is that Viktor and I had several conversations both on Friday and Saturday, he says to DG.
