I wrote – Mona Al-Muji:
The first four episodes of the Dakkat Al-Obaid series, which were shown on the Shahid platform, sparked positive reactions on both the critical and mass levels, and critics described it as a new shift in Arab drama.
The series is being filmed in Egypt and 80 percent of the production elements are Egyptian, in terms of image, clothes, and even script writing standards and the length of the episodes.
The series is produced by MBC Studios, written by Heba Meshary, and directed by Tunisian director El-Asaad and Selati.
And starring the stars are the Saudi Fayez Bin Jrays, the Indian star Apeksha Porwall, the Saudi star Al Anoud Saud, the Saudi star Hashem Najdi, the English star Shannon Gaskin, the English star Janique Charles, the English star Riel Baptiste, the Irish star Nick Cornwall and the Lebanese star Natasha Shuftney. Dutch star Dian Bieman, Australian star Lauren Thomas and English star Chris J Jordan.
The series is produced by Mbc studios. Only four episodes of the first part were shown, and it achieved very high viewing rates
Its events take place at the beginning of the nineteenth century, and it sheds light on an important event in human history, which is slavery. We have five stories that take place in parallel in different geographical regions of the world, where our story begins with the collection of slaves and then their deportation to reach their inevitable fate.
The work belongs to the type of huge productions, as it included 200 actors from different countries of the world and more than 15 thousand groups, and 80 percent of the scenes were filmed in Egypt, and a huge decor was built specifically for it, and the percentage of the remaining filming days was distributed between Lebanon, which filmed 18 percent of the events of the series. In it and Tunisia, 2 percent of the rest of the events were filmed there.
