Leonard Gates put in a great performance at the US Darts Masters on the night from Friday to Saturday by knocking out Fallon Sherrock.
The American defeated Fallon Sherrock 6-2. The Englishman had a total off-day with an average of just 71, while Gates managed to average almost 88.
”This is a great feeling. I have a lot of respect for Fallon and what she has done for women’s darts. But it’s not over yet, there is still more to play for”, he told the press afterwards.
Gates hopes to get even further in New York, but then has to deal with world champion Peter Wright. ”I’m going to try to put down something nice this year. I don’t care who to play against. I’m not going to sleep next night either, I’m going to train all night.”
